Lew Mahieu designed the Kiwi in 1954. Originally thought to be a Zeek with strait wing tips, tail and rudder, for a model with the flight characteristics of the Zeek without the complex construction. The 1/2A Kiwi was BMJR’s 3rd kit produced in 1998. Since we have done an A-B Kiwi, Kiwi-P-30, Kiwi-Coop, Kiwi-36; so why not a Kiwi-E-20. The model has a 20” wing span with an area of 54 sq. in. Our model Is powered with a PKZ 3616 motor using a 150mAh 1S battery and an E-20 timer, all from Willamette Modelers Club . All up ready to fly weight of our model, covered in Japanese tissue with 2 light coats of Nitrate, is 27 grams.
