The original Dixielander was designed by George Fuller in 1959, and produced as a kit by Yeoman in England in 1960. The original model had a 50” span and is a Nostalgia legal design. The BMJR E-36 version has a 36” span and 186 sq. in. area, for electric power, and may be flown in E-36 or electric Nostalgia. We have however used the same model with 1/2A . George Fuller happened upon the near-perfect configuration for a fixed-surface power model of its day. With the CG in the right place ( at the wing TE), a moderate warp in the right panel (which is absolutely essential), a fast, safe, spiral climb and a great gliding performance is almost guaranteed. Launch near-vertical.
