The Splash-E designed by Harry Stewart is a relatively small (44" span), light (13-15 oz), electric powered, "wire-braced" flying boat.   The distinction between a float plane and a seaplane is; a float plane is just a conventional land plane adapted to fly off water by the addition on floats; a seaplane is really a boat that has been adapted to fly. You will learn that seaplanes can handle higher wind and bigger waves and spend much less time upside down in the water. Even so, the best time to fly the Splash-E is in light to no wind conditions. And a very real advantage of electric power for flying off water is that after landing, there is usually enough power to taxi back to shore.

The  Splash-E designed by Harry Stewart is a relatively small (44" span), light (13-15 oz), electric powered, "wire-braced" flying boat. It is designed specifically around the inexpensive MGK motor, but was adaptable to most speed 280 size power plants (no longer available). Today we recommend the HC-2808 brushless motor (M-110) and 18 amp speed control (C-M-112) for maximum performance.  3 micro servos are required (HS-55).
