Based on Bud Romak’s 1959 1/2A Free Flight which originally had a 68 1/2″ span with 275 sq. in of area. Powered by a Thermal Hopper .049 the flying weight was 8 3/4 oz. Bud sent me a copy of a plan drawn by Bill Dean which was used to scale the model to 36″ span with 118 sq. in. area. Perfect for 1/4A or E-36 FF. We never intended the model for contest, just loved the swept wing configuration and thought a sport model for .020 or E-36 would be fun to build and fly.
